Folding Chair explores simplicity and complexity, merging refined aesthetics with practical functionality. Driven by sustainability, it combines F17 and F27 grade recycled Australian hardwood with a natural wax finish, featuring soft curves and intuitive folding mechanisms. The design balances CNC precision with traditional woodworking techniques to create a piece that's easy to use, compact and thoughtfully detailed.

This project investigates extraction, preservation and the way industrial objects retain memory within a landscape. The outboard motor operates as a reference point for this tension. Rather than a literal depiction, the form is pushed through distortion and colour to convey the energy and unease embedded in its use and context.
